What could environmentally friendly agricultural policy look like?

Our video shows how a fresh start in EU agricultural policy can succeed: with fair, market-based solutions that price in environmental damage. This can stop species loss, environmental destruction and climate damage.

The biodiversity crisis is real – and Europe’s agricultural policy is a key driver. Despite enormous costs for taxpayers, it still supports structures that fuel species loss, environmental destruction and climate damage. Why is this? What problems lie behind current EU agricultural policy? And how can it be reformed?

Our 4-minute video explains the connections and shows a way out of the biodiversity crisis, which in the EU is primarily a crisis of agricultural policy.
The video is based on the new WIFO study, commissioned by nature solidarity, which was prepared and recently published. The film was produced by Oliver Päßler, Filming Science, as well as Kai Hofmann and Jutta Melsheimer, bildbad, animation & illustration.
